Ajman University To Hold The Accredited Conference: “ADVANCING EXCELLENCE IN DENTAL CARE”

In its quest to promote the Innovative Medical Environment, The College of Dentistry at Ajman University of Science & Technology (AUST) and the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) are organizing a two-day multi-disciplinary dental conference with the theme, “Advancing Excellence in Dental Care.”
This conference is accredited for 14, 13.5 and 12 CME points by the Ministry of Health, the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Health Authority respectively.
The event will be held on the 4th and 5th of April, 2010, at the Sheikh Zayed Centre for Conferences and Exhibitions on AUST’s Ajman campus, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Saeed Abdulla Salman, AUST President.
Dr Salem Abu Fannas, Dean of the College of Dentistry said:” This conference will promote research and place our students in an international arena to mix with international well established masters of Dentistry as a Science and as a Profession.”

The conference, supported by the Emirates Medical Association’s Dental Society, will bring together leading academics and clinicians engaged in all areas of dentistry. They will provide a review of the current evidence-based status of various areas relevant to dentistry, as well as current trends, clinical developments and techniques. Eminent speakers will include Professor Malcolm Harris who is an Emeritus Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University College London and Honorary Professor at the University of Central Lancaster; Dr. Patrick J. Byrne, Dean, and Dr. R. Gerard Cleary, Immediate Past Vice-Dean both of RCSI’s Faculty of Dentistry. Some senior consultants within the Emirates will also be presenting their perspectives on the conference theme.
This conference is intended to be a step towards AUST’s goal of advancing the field of dentistry and leading the way in better patient management. The conference will present the cutting edge in oral care for patients and should therefore be of particular interest to all oral healthcare professionals aspiring to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive care. The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and share experience, thus providing mutual support, education and inspiration.
